The Gray Line, The Story Behind The Blue Line, is a law enforcement podcast discussing numerous topics. The podcast has four hosts. Benny Cruz, a retired San Diego Sheriff's Detective; David Contreras, a retired San Diego Police Detective Sergeant; Sean Murphy, a retired San Diego Police Lieutenant; and Gonzalo "Chalo" Gerardo, retired Calexico Police Chief. The podcast goes live every Tuesday at 6 pm (PST). All the episodes start with an introductory video and song. The panel interviews many individuals, such as Prison Wardens, Alex Marentes, Buggs of Borderland Beat, Parole Agents, Hector Bravo of That Guard Podcast, Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva, DEA agents, former LAPD Rampart Officer Ruben Palomares, and Jay Flores, one of the Chicago Twins that brought down Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman from the Sinaloa Cartel, and many other guests. On September 26, 2024, Hurricane Helene unleashed devastation across the Southeast. Helene landed in Florida as a Category 4 with sustained winds of 140 mph. Helene became a deadly disaster across six states. On October 10, 2024, another hurricane, Hurricane Milton, landed again in Florida. Milton reached as high as a Category 5 over the Gulf of Mexico on a path towards Florida's central west coast. Milton plowed into Florida as a Category 3 storm, pounding cities with winds over 100 mph. In this episode, retired San Diego Police Detective Sergeant David Contreras, a resident of Florida, retired San Diego Police Detective Sergeant Doug Collier, a resident of Tennessee, and Dustin Wester, a current Deputy Sheriff with the Imperial County Sheriff's Office who grew up in North Carolina and started his law enforcement career there, will discuss their experiences, fears, and thoughts during these hurricanes, tornados, and previous experience with other natural disasters while living in those three states.
