March Madness & Judge Jackson Hearings, Russia, Mental Health, Energy/Climate Policy w/ Kelsey Grant
Published 4 years, 5 months ago
Description
Heard Tell for Tuesday, March 22th, 2022, is turning down the noise and getting to the information we need on what the caterwauling over the Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson hearings has in common with the March Madness college basketball tournament - besides folks losing their minds over it. Vladimir Putin's "Fortress Russia" plans to economically prepare his country and regime for the kind of sanctions he now faces over his war crimes in Ukraine turns out to be less prepared safe haven and more of a fiscal tomb. Also, we have even more data that the COVID-19 crisis wasn't so much a driver of the mental health deluge among young people as it was a revealing event that exposed and accelerated what was already happening, we will discuss mental health once again as we continually do on Heard Tell. Guest Kelsey Grant of Young Voices joins to talk energy policy, environmental concerns, and the need to re-examine some terms and ideas that have devolved into buzzwords and misconceptions. Kelsey takes the situation in Ukraine as an example of how energy policy must be constantly updated and modified to match world events, and explains why terms like carbon pricing, carbon tax, and emission regulation need to be reclaimed/redefined going forward, and how terminology is not only important for policy directives but can be a barrier to discussion important issues like energy and the environment. Also, Tom Brady's return from a short-lived retirement had a crushing effect on one fan who thought they had a piece of history from the NFL legend's "last game", but there may be a happy ending to that disappointment after all if the quarterback has his way. All that and more on this Tuesday edition of Heard Tell.
