President Biden in Poland, Trump in Georgia, & Grown Folk Free Speech Discussion w/guest Burt Likko
Published 4 years, 5 months ago
Description
Heard Tell for Monday, March 28th, 2022, is turning down the noise and getting to the information we need on President Biden's trip to Europe, speech in Poland, and reaction of the media, common folks, and the White House comms shop. We skip the caterwauling about the president's "inarticulate" statements that sent staffers scrambling, the supports who declared his address to be the best speech every, and his detractors who insist he is causing World War 3 and get to what does and does not matter. Also, former President Trump held a rally in Georgia, but despite the rhetoric and some in Trumpworld wanting 2022 to be the year of MAGA retribution polling shows some the president's picks are not doing so well, the rally crowds are down, and the material isn't getting any fresher. Guest Burt Likko joins us to have a grown folk talk about free speech, and our lawyer friend explains the legal definition of "free speech" before delving into the culture aspects. Burt also discussed the common misusage of "yelling fire in a crowed theater" and how tech companies no matter how powerful they get still are not the government. We end the program with a look at the amazing work of World Central Kitchen in Poland/Ukraine feeding hundreds of thousands of folks. All that and more on this Monday edition of Heard Tell.
