On this Heard Tell Good Talks, one of our favorite guest Eric Garcia, journalist and author of the book "We Are Not Broken" returns to Heard Tell to talk about the viral video and reaction of a non-verbal valedictorian using a device to give her commencement speech brings up issues of technology opening up possibilities for folks with disabilities and challenges, but also shows how far we still have to go with perceptions and terminology in helping folks how they need, not just how folks think they need help. Also, since his day job is covering congress we talk to Eric about how current legislation priorities and the looming midterms are playing with the members themselves, how they are reacting, and what we can expect in the waning days of the 117th Congress. And since he's a proud UNC-Chapel Hill grad, we talk some North Carolina politics, such as how Senator Thom Tillis quietly built the GOP up to power in the Old North State, and how he now is behind things like the scorched earth campaign against Madison Cawthorn.
