We go to India, where the ruling government's push for a Uniform Civil Code regarding such things as marriage, divorce, inheritance and adoption in the very diverse and divide population of the world's largest democracy, what it means for human rights and justice, and lessons we can learn from the struggle. Guest Jericho Hill returns, and he has some interesting reporting on a phenomenon going on in the Reddit law enforcement sphere, where moderators tried to shut down criticism of the police response to the Uvalde massacre but the commenters where having none of it. Jericho also brings his perspective on the shootings, talks about how these incidents hit different now that he is a parent, and shares skepticism as someone who has worked in government as to anything positive getting done going forward. Also, he puts on his economist hat and explains an interesting changing in housing data and its correlation to working from home. In politics, Donald Trump is laying blame for his chosen candidates poor performance in Georgia and looking ahead to another name on his vendetta list in Wyoming Representative Liz Cheney, and a marathon running in Buffalo put one participant in the race to sleep in winning.
