Brooke talks us through the suprising polling and interesting twists and turns as Rep. Ted Budd (R) and former NC State Supreme Court Justice Cheri Beasley (D) are in a virtual tie. Brooke also has new polling data on some of the most debated issues of the day, and discusses the numbers on abortion, medicare expansion, environmental policy, energy and gas prices, & more. Plus, Brooke has a story about eminent domain that raises all kinds of questions of government power and how it is used to not only favor certain private companies but to displace homes, businesses, and even a church. Then, our guest is Quinn Townsend, Policy Manager at Alaska Policy Forum and a Young Voices contributor. Quinn joins us to talk about electric vehicle tax credits and how government incintives to try and affect consumer behavior on EVs does not always benefit who/what they are supposed to. Also, Quinn talks about the underlying issue with the push for EVs where the government on one hand is wanting to regulate them into wider use, but at the same time stopping the exploration and domestic mining of the rare earth minerals essential to EVs and other technologies, which not only increases cost but leaves the entire industry under the influence of China. All that and more on this Tuesday edition of Heard Tell.
