Prepare the Way for Others (Advent 11)

“Prepare the way of the Lord; make his paths straight…” - from Mark 1:3 (quoting Isaiah 40:3)

The ‘Kingdom of God’ describes a way of experiencing and living in the world that leads to shalom.

Shalom is a type of peace and wellbeing that can be experienced both individually and collectively.

In other words, the concept of the ‘Kingdom of God’ leads to individual and social transformation.

While we are watching and waiting for this reality to emerge, we are not to be passive onlookers. We are called to be active participants in ushering this reality into the lives of those we meet.

In other words we prepare the way of the Lord, by the things we say, by the things we do, by how we are particularly as we relate to others.

We all have different roles to play according to our gifts, abilities, and opportunities. But we all play a part in preparing the way.

I’m Horace McMillon. This is 60 Seconds of Hope. Peace be with you.
