Today, I speak about the resurrection of the dead in relation to the obligatory memorial celebrating Sts. Martha, Mary and Lazarus. One of the Gospel options today is the one taken from Luke 10:38-42 where Jesus arrives at the house of these siblings when Lazarus had already died. Martha meets him and poured out her heart about her wishing that Jesus was present when Lazarus was still sick. But she declared her faith in the resurrection of the dead and that Jesus is the resurrection and the life. He asks her directly about whether she believed in this. To which Martha answers she did and then declares the divine nature of Jesus. Since he is God, then he can very well resurrect her brother Lazarus.
