We read from the Gospel according to St. Matthew Chapter 14 about Our Lord walking on the sea after he prayed for the evening after multiplying the five loaves and two fish to feed so many people. St. Peter in a manner of speaking challenged Our Lord asking him to bid him come over the water. Our Lord invited him to come to him. He got distracted by the strong wind and he began to sink. He cried to Our Lord to save him and Our Lord extended his hand to Peter and remarked that he had little faith and demanded why he doubted. We need to be reminded that Our Lord is also present in our midst. And we can call out to him to save us, to help us, to fortify us. Thus, we can use various ways to remind us of His pervading presence: images of crucifixes, pictures of Our Lady, our own Guardian Angels, etc.
