Today we celebrate the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord. We read in the Gospel of the Holy Mass today the narration of St. Luke about this transfiguration. Jesus removes the veil covering his Divinity and Glory for the three closest of this Apostles to appreciate His attributes. Pay attention that Our Lord just revealed to his apostles that he was going to suffer in the hands of his enemies, then die and resurrect after three days. That is truly a terrible prophesy. Who wouldn't be traumatized by it? So Jesus wanted to show them a secret. And that was that he was divine and in glory. This dying would only be a step in a series of steps to save mankind from sin. He was like telling them not to be traumatized by his crucifixion because He was in charge. He was going to resurrect anymore. Then that voice of the Father came out of the cloud that covered the scene expressing the divine relationship Jesus had with the Father, i.e., Jesus was his Son and that we need to listen to Him. This is what we need to do, we need to be rooted in Jesus no matter what. God is in charge. He has a plan. He just wants us to trust him!
