Feast of St. Bartholomew, Apostle
Published 3 years, 9 months ago
Description
We celebrate in the Church the feast of St. Bartholomew today, the 24th of August. The Lord tells us in the Gospel in the Holy Mass the story of the meeting of St. Bartholomew--then known as Nathanael--with Him for the first time. It was St. Philip who brought the topic of Jesus from Nazareth being the Messiah to his friend. He invited him to check Him out for himself. This is an example that we as Christians should also do. We cannot keep to ourselves the things we learn in listening to these homilies for example. We need to spread the Word of God to the others. First, by loving the others, that is, to serve the others. One of the ways among others, is by sharing the good things we have. Isn't our relationship with Jesus one of them?
