Episode Details

The parable of the talents is the subject of the Gospel for today. It is found in Chapter 25 of St. Matthew's Gospel. The same themes are set forth by the Lord. They similar to the previous parable in the same chapter, namely, that of the wise and foolish virgins. There is a time of reckoning. God has given us our lives to develop the talents he has distributed among us. The time of reckoning comes and the three servants need to account for the money the master had left with them to see what they had done to them. The first two doubled the money the master had given them and the master rewarded them for they took care of the little things. But the last one was punished because he did not do anything with the little money was left with relative to the amounts the master had entrusted to the first two servants. Most of us have little things to take care of in this world. But doing that will get us the big reward in the end.
