Check out the Salutation of St. Paul to the Colossians
Published 2 years, 8 months ago
Description
Let's observe how the Apostle of the Gentiles greets the Colossians in opening his letter to them. He mentions his title as an apostle of Jesus Christ. One could find it unusual to do that, but after following the customs of the time, St. Paul made it his practice to keep in mind his identity as such. This facilitates many things in one's living each day in his activities. For instance, if we keep being aware we are children of God, we can handle better our disappointments and challenges because we firmly believe that God being our Father in Heaven will not permit anything bad to happen to his children. Then, he mentions his companions always in a good light. We should follow suit when we mention others in our discourse and thoughts. Lastly, he wishes good to the others.
