What we mostly talk about is the importance of being free from. Free from tyranny, from injustice, inequalities, and so forth. But we need to still find out what our freedom is for. Otherwise, an emancipated freedom could still be destructive and unjust when practiced. The sickness of our nature due to original sin would threaten our limited freedom to be enslaved to wayward passions or falsehoods outside it.
