Our Lord Jesus Christ inverted the existing conventions regarding power. People more easily grasp that to have power means the ability to bully others, to get what one wants, to take away the lives of others, to torture them, etc. But Christianity corrected that and made it mean the ability to serve the others and to be useful to the needs of the others.
