Last week, we read about the first part of the Gospel according to St. John, Chapter 6. This is the famous chapter that reveals the intention of Jesus to institute the Holy Eucharist, the center and summit of all Christian Life and Life in the Church. To prepare the people for this announcement on the Eucharist, Our Lord Jesus Christ underscored His divine authority by performing amazing miracles like the multiplication of bread and fish for more than five thousand individuals. Then, He walked on the sea. The Gospel today provides the next step in this process of preparation. It is the crucial step of believing in Jesus Christ.
