Our tendency is to put obstacles to His Will, to our getting to know His Will and to us accomplishing His Will. The Gospel today gives us an idea how Jesus handled the Sadducees who did not believe in the resurrection of the dead. They pose to him an example of 7 brothers who marry the same woman, one after the other. Each one dies without leaving any child. By the Law of Moses those brothers are obliged to marry that woman and try to raise children with her. However, each dies before a child is conceived and last of all the woman dies. In the resurrection, whose wife will she be? Such a case is presented to Our Lord to disprove the possibility of the resurrection of the dead. This is an example of how we put up obstacles to believing in God, pure and simple. Let us avoid this behavior.
