Who is Your Lord on the Sabbath?
Published 1 year, 8 months ago
Description
Jesus, Our Lord, clarifies His teaching about the observance of the Sabbath duties. The Pharisees and scribes argue about the absolute necessity to observe these duties that they invent new rules that suffocate man. The apostles eat grains of corn as they weave through a corn field. The Pharisees and scribes observe that they do something prohibited on the Sabbath. They are so unreasonable! Thus, Jesus brings up with them the circumstances of David and his followers who go to the Temple and eat the bread reserved for the Holy of Holies. They absolutely needed to according to the circumstances. In this way, He criticizes the Jews for their rigidities and penchant for establishing human traditions that resonate with the mind of the supreme Lawgiver. Such laws regarding the observance of the Sabbath do not preclude consideration of the different circumstances of the persons concerned.
