The Evolution of ETH 2.0 with Teku’s Ben Edgington

Published 4 years, 6 months ago
Description

This week James and Anna chat with Ben Edgington, Lead Product Manager for Teku, an Eth2 client developed by ConsenSys.

Ben recounts his story of the involvement with Ethereum 2.0 from the very early months of Serenity and Shasper, and how those were completely replaced by the Beacon Chain concept that resulted in Ethereum 2.0 as we know it. Ben then highlights what changed after Phase 0 launch: the simplification of Phase 1 & 2 , the rollup-centric roadmap and the upcoming Merge with Eth1.

Mina is a layer-one crypto protocol that replaces the traditional blockchain with a zero-knowledge proof, ensuring a super-light and constant sized chain that allows participants to quickly sync and verify the network.

Mina offers users a platform to build a private gateway between the real world and crypto. Mina also has an active demo in partnership with Teller Finance for “End-to-End Data Privacy,” showing how you can use Mina to access your credit score and prove that you meet credit threshold requirements for on-chain services— without ever disclosing your actual score.
