Today On Deadline is holding a funeral service for what we, and all Americans, hope is the death of inflation. Last week was a cause of celebration for our wallets and economic aspirations as the Federal Reserve issued its first rate cut in more than four years, dropping key interest rates a half point from their two-decade high of 5.3%, where they sat for 14 months as the Central bank fought to tame inflation.
