Hayom Yom 22 Elul - Before rebuking one should cut one’s nails

Season 3 Episode 299 Published 8 months, 4 weeks ago
Description

The teachings of Chassidus demand

that before rebuking one’s fellowman,

one should “cut one’s nails,”

so that people will not scratch each other —

for [the forces of kelipah] cling to the nails.

Every prick [unleashes] kelipah and sitra achra.

Then, after cutting the nails,

one must perform a ritual washing of the hands.

In [the metaphorical language of] Chassidus, this signifies

the drawing down of intellectual influence into the emotions.
