QUESTIONS
Q1. Should we appoint someone to be a pastor because he volunteers? Why?
Q2. Should we appoint, when is none called and the best person to preach is a woman? Should we do so to take care of things temporarily? What should be done?
Q3. What does "God's heritage" mean? What are the lessons for the elders and you as God's sheep?
Q4. How do we explain "neither as being lords over God's heritage" but yet being told to "taking oversight" (v2)?
Q5. Why is it important for both the elders and the congregation to understand the difference in question 4?
Q6. Give some examples of areas in the church where we need to differentiate between lordship and oversight. Explain why they are not lording over for personal gain but for the spiritual betterment of God's work, others and yourself?

Bible Passage (KJV): 1 Peter 5:1-5
1 The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:
2 Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
3 Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being examples to the flock.
4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
