While the BRICS nations continue to work on establishing a gold-backed currency in the alliance's efforts (led by China and Russia) to de-dollarize the global financial system, they are working on more. The group has greatly advanced its own payment system and 34 more nations have asked to join the alliance. Meantime, the U.S. has not been helping its own cause to keep the dollar's dominance as excessive government spending has played a huge part in the devaluing and growing worldwide distrust in the fiat dollar.
