Production is poised to commence shortly on a new limited television series for Paramount+ that will delve into the unresolved murder of a young girl from Colorado. JonBenét Ramsey was tragically killed in 1996, a case that garnered extensive media coverage for many years. The cold case remains a topic of significant interest for those captivated by its enigmatic aspects.
On the day following Christmas, Ramsey's parents reported their daughter missing. She was subsequently discovered strangled in their home in Boulder. In the ensuing weeks and months, law enforcement considered the parents, along with Ramsey's nine-year-old brother, as potential suspects. It was not until many years later that authorities exonerated them. Even after twenty-seven years, investigative efforts regarding the case persist.
The working title of the Paramount+ series is JonBenét Ramsey, and it will feature eight episodes. Melissa McCarthy and Clive Owen are set to portray Ramsey's parents, Patsy and John. Filming will take place in Calgary, Canada.
