A character is someone with a strong, unusual, or interesting personality that makes them stand out and be memorable. They often do or say things that are unique. 

Examples:
1- Winston Churchill was a character in British history, known for his witty speeches, love of cigars, and bulldog-like determination.
2- Salvador Dalí was a real character in the art world. He was known for his unique mustache and strange behavior, like giving bizarre interviews and making dramatic public appearances. His bold personality was as unusual as his artwork.
