For the first time in over a decade Chicagoans can celebrate Mexican Independence Day at a sanctioned downtown event.
El Grito Chicago is a two-day festival taking place in Grant Park Saturday and Sunday.
WBEZ’s Araceli Gomez-Aldana spoke to event organizer Korina Sanchez ahead of the celebration.
