When we enter the meeting area where God's people assembly to offer him worship what do we see? In many churches today we see a stage with musical instruments with few if any symbols of the God ordained ways to offer him acceptable praise. Why is this the case? Could it be a loss of the sense of the reverence we owe to God? Have we traded reverence for utility? Consider the words spoken to begin the public service. Worship should begin with a clear scriptural call that marks the time and brings the people into an awareness of God by the speaking of the Word that summons us into God's presence.
This message looks briefly at 3 examples in the experiences of Jacob, Moses and Isaiah.
Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe,for our God is a consuming fire. Hebrews 12:28f
