On today's podcast, I sat down with ultra marathon swimmer and athlete - John Van Wisse. We discussed how he prepared his body for a swim like the double crossing of the English Channel and the race around Manhattan Island. We chatted about the training involved; nutrition during the race, and how John continually pushes his body to new limits in ultra marathon events.

Ultra marathon swims are not all that this amazing athlete has conquered. John has raced in the Hawaii Ironman, the Arch to Arc Enduroman and now is taking on a professional boxing fight!

We learn about what kind of workouts John did before his big swims, and also the kind of workouts he gives the swimmers he coaches, who come from all different parts of the swimming spectrum - pool, open water, water polo, ultra-marathon, triathlon to name a few.

This podcast is really worth a listen, and not only to hear John's humble perspective, but the advice that can be taken into any form of swimming with a positive "can do" mindset.
