The new Artistic Director of Pittsburgh International and Classic Theater (PICT), Elizabeth Huffman, spoke about the first Pittsburgh production of Andy Warhol’s Tomato. The play was written by Vine Melocchi, who was born in McKeesport but more recently works as an actor and playwright in Los Angeles. Elizabeth directs the show and the play features Matt Henderson and Johnny Patalano exploring Andy Warhol’s early years in Pittsburgh. The play runs from September 20 through October 6. There is also a preview at the Andy Warhol Museum on September 13th at 8pm. Elizabeth Huffman runs down the plan for a revived PICT and how the company has overcome a series of challenges to return to the Carnegie Stage in Carnegie, PA.
