Description

Trash Can Therapist? No, thank you! But with Pluto in Scorpio conjunct my South Node and trine to my Sun in the eighth house, I have plenty of experience treating myself that way. Now, however, I've stepped into the greater potential of a therapist though—present/intense and ready for the deep dive. In this chapter, you'll hear me talk about a critical learning moment that changed everything in how I work with people. Learning a specific way of listening was a game changer. The NARM method, developed by Dr. Laurence Heller, is something I now use, and here is my humble attempt to outline the core of the model. TAP in with me, Mannah, and you'll hear:

-What made me *not* want to be a therapist!
- What totally made me *want* to be a therapist!
- How I discovered NARM for complex trauma while looking for a 4-5 year psychotherapy program (which NARM isn't, but hey, it came up on Google!)
- Attracting what you desire
- Spiritual teachers who say you don't need therapy anymore?!?!?
- The difference between social work and therapeutic healing work
- Listening to clients' complaints without absorbing them, but instead, latching onto the essence—using that neurodivergent superhero power! :)
- Increasing capacity for connection
- Becoming an expert in your own internal world

- Emotional completion and receiving the message in the emotions
- Shutting down emotions and not knowing what you feel because someone taught you emotions weren't productive or valid
- Fighting yourself creates internal conflict or self-sabotage
- Increasing the capacity for connection by integrating emotions
- Adaptations that become identity: psychobiological patterns
- How this approach aligns with astrology
- How to heal through embodied adult consciousness

MUCH LOVE
