This week, the Sarasota SpeaX crew sits down with a community leader, who has a deep history with Sarasota, from the world of coaching youth and high school football all the way to being a pillar in community leadership.  Currently, Walter Gilbert is the VP of DEI for Selby Botanical Gardens, but he takes us through the history of Sarasota, exploring some of the difficult times that the community faced throughout the years.  We also learn about many of the projects, boards and initiatives that he is a part of…all for the benefit of continuing to improve the community.

We also learn about his passion for coaching football, and his hopes to get the Redskins youth football league to eventually return.  Walter also was the coach for our very own Trey Martell.  We’d add more to the description, but you need to hear Walter’s story first hand.  We also get his thoughts on the roundabouts, and put him through the Rapid Fire Gauntlet.
