When Storms Hit

Throughout life, we will all face trials of many kinds. Some are personal struggles while others can effect the community as a whole. What do we do in times of trouble? How do we lean on God when it counts? How do we keep ourselves resilient?

  • Resiliency in difficult times is something we all can strive toward.

Difficult times can lead to discouragement. Discouragement, if left unchecked, can lead to destruction.

Resiliency in difficult times can help us lessen discouragement and ultimately avoid destruction.

Resiliency – “Not just acceptance of a situation but, rather, an expectation to persevere through, with steadiness, and come out better on the other side.

Three keys to resiliency in the midst of difficult times:

1. Stay Close to God. (Spiritual Strength)

2. Stay Calm. (Emotional Health)

3. Stay Connected. (Relational Stability)

*If you want to be resilient in difficult times, you have to stay close to God.

2. Stay Calm. (Emotional Health)

Sometimes the most courageous thing we can do is “Be still and know He is God.” (Psalm 46:10)

*If you want to be resilient in difficult times, you have to stay calm in the storm.

3. Stay Connected. (Relational Stability)

Staying connected to the church provides you with the relational stability you need to maintain resiliency.
