🔴Tether.io has announced plans to launch a new stablecoin pegged to the UAE Dirham (AED) on August 21, 2024. This initiative is in collaboration with the UAE's Phoenix Group PLC and Green Acorn Investments Ltd. The stablecoin will seek licensing under the Central Bank of The UAE's Payment Token Services Regulation and will be fully backed by liquid UAE-based reserves, adhering to Tether's stringent reserve standards to maintain a stable value tied to the AED. 🔥 Former Ripple developers' new company, Skyfire, raised $8.5 million to help AI get things done, even when it involves paying for something. They have created an open-source payment system called Skyfire that aims to fuse blockchain payments with AI. The system allows autonomous AI agents to make purchases using USDC, a popular stablecoin, for various goods and services. 🟣 El Salvador has launched a Bitcoin certification program to train 80,000 government employees in strategic management and public policy related to Bitcoin. The 160-hour virtual course, offered by the National Bitcoin Office (ONBTC) & the Higher School of Innovation in Public Administration, is part of the country's effort to create a Bitcoin-ready workforce. Stacy Herbert, director of ONBTC, expects the training to boost El Salvador's Bitcoin-driven economy and plans to introduce more educational initiatives. Info via
