Niccolò Machiavelli has become infamous for his realistic and brutal approach to political philosophy. Many credit the Italian writer with giving birth to modern political thought, but did he create a permanent break by abandoning previous moral traditions? Athenian Stranger joins me to discuss Leo Strauss' book "Thoughts on Machiavelli" and the struggle between the ancients and the moderns.
