Avoiding your triggers isn’t healing. Healing happens when you are triggered and you can move through the pain, the pattern, and the story, and walk yourself to a different ending.
The soul always knows when and how to heal itself, the challenge is to silence the mind. To silence the voice in your head that says you need to avoid sitting with the pain. To avoid feeling anything but the pain, the anger, the hurt, or the sorrow.
It's normal to think you should always feel positive and happy, and for the most part that is what you want. But when you are hurt, avoiding facing your pain only brings more pain. Either in your heart, your body or your thoughts.
Healing doesn’t mean the pain never existed; it means you are able to deal with it in a way that keeps it from controlling your life.
