Description

The Chu sisters are former Miss Hawaiʻi USA sisters and entrepreneurs. The older sister Julie is a former Miss Hawai’i Teen USA and Miss Hawai’i USA. During her reign she wrote and illustrated her first children’s book, Curly the Doxin and has traveled around the world promoting her book which was written to teach the importance of self-love for children. She also dedicates her time serving as a board member for Special Olympics Hawai’i and Women Speak out Hawai’i where she is a spokesperson for raising awareness of special needs and teen dating violence.  After working for the department of education for 8 years she transitioned into real estate. The younger sister is our former Hawaiiverse Podcast guest and still the first and only person to ever win both Miss Hawai'i and Miss Hawaiʻi USA. Allie is a high school valedictorian, singer, actress, hula dancer, and beauty queen. Check out episode 22 to learn more about her. Together they run Oysters Hawai’i, which is a one of a kind experience of oyster shucking for any occasion. In this episode we talk about their childhood, getting into pageantry, Julie writing her book, Allie having the idea to start Oysters Hawai'i, and much more...all while watching their hilarious banter between on another. Enjoy!
