Lars Nootbaar provided a pinch-hit homer but that's all the Cardinals would muster in the game as Clayton Kershaw got the better of the St. Louis lineup.
Sonny Gray gave the Cardinals a chance but dealt with some sporadic command that meant he would only get through five innings in his start.
