This week Host Dave Bledsoe slams half a bottle of tequila, jumps on the bar and screams “AIR RAID WARNING” before stage diving into the mosh pit. (It wasn’t a mosh pit, it was a wedding reception, in which he had crashed. They were doing the chicken dance and he was arrested. Again.) On the show this week we tell you about that time in 1971 when the Emergency Broadcast System told everyone the end was nigh! (But it wasn’t nigh, someone had a fucked up very, very, badly.)
Along the way we discover that Dave doesn’t think of himself as an “influencer”. (Anyone who is “influenced” by Dave needs to check right into rehab.) Then we dive right into why we have an Emergency Broadcast System (Harry Truman and nukes) and all the ways it went dreadfully wrong in 1971. (Honestly people , label your files clearly! You will be glad you did!) Finally we examine why people just sort of stopped worrying about the end of the world from nukes. (Probably because of all the other ways it was ending right in front of their eyes.)
