👀 DBS Bank launches blockchain-powered Treasury Tokens pilot with Ant International for 24/7 treasury and liquidity management

- DBS Bank launched a pilot for blockchain-based DBS Treasury Tokens on a permissioned, Ethereum-compatible blockchain. Partnering with Ant International, the tokens aim to improve corporate liquidity management across markets. The project builds on DBS's work with the Monetary Authority of Singapore, exploring tokenization's benefits for scalable, efficient banking and liquidity solutions. - Is there something called a Permissioned Blockchain? 

🟣 Metaplanet, a Japanese investment firm, bought ¥500 million ($3.4 million) more Bitcoin, bringing its total to 303 BTC acquired for ¥2.95 billion ($20 million). The firm aggressively expanded its Bitcoin reserves through a stock rights offering and a ¥1 billion loan, mirroring MicroStrategy's strategy of using debt to accumulate Bitcoin as a hedge against yen depreciation. 🔴The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filed fraud charges against NovaTech and its promoters, accusing them of running a $650 million crypto pyramid scheme that defrauded over 200,000 investors, mostly Haitian Americans. Led by founders Cynthia and Eddy Petion, NovaTech falsely promised high crypto and forex trading returns but instead used new investors' funds to pay earlier ones. The scheme collapsed in 2023 after withdrawal delays and regulatory actions. The SEC seeks injunctions, disgorgement, and penalties. Promoter Martin Zizi has agreed to a partial settlement.
