The Biden administration supported a secret legal, effort to obtain the phone and email records of four New York Times reporters, and then its Justice Department imposed a gag order on the Times “to shield it from public view” — a move the newspaper called “unprecedented” in journalistic history. A federal judge in the Southern District of California ruled late last Friday that California’s controversial “assault weapons” ban is unconstitutional. California Governor Gavin Newsom lashed out at the federal judge the next day, making several false claims.
