Blessed be God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
And blessed be his kingdom, now and for ever. Amen.

Come, let us worship God our King.
Come, let us worship Christ, our King and our God.
Come, let us worship Christ among us, our King and our God.

Holy God,
holy and mighty,
holy immortal one,
have mercy upon us. (3x)

Glory be to the + Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
now and always and forever and ever. Amen.

From Psalm 51

Open my lips, O Lord, *
and my mouth shall proclaim your praise.

Create in me a clean heart, O God, *
and renew a right spirit within me.

Cast me not away from your presence *
and take not your holy Spirit from me.

Give me the joy of your saving help again *
and sustain me with your bountiful Spirit.

Glory be to the + Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
now and always and forever and ever. Amen.

A Psalm

Psalm 41

Beatus qui intelligit

Happy are they who consider the poor and needy! the Lord will deliver them in the time of trouble.

The Lord preserves them and keeps them alive, so that they may be happy in the land; he does not hand them over to the will of their enemies.

The Lord sustains them on their sickbed and ministers to them in their illness.

I said, “Lord, be merciful to me; heal me, for I have sinned against you.”

My enemies are saying wicked things about me: “When will he die, and his name perish?”

Even if they come to see me, they speak empty words; their heart collects false rumors; they go outside and spread them.

All my enemies whisper together about me and devise evil against me.

“A deadly thing," they say, "has fastened on him; he has taken to his bed and will never get up again.”

Even my best friend, whom I trusted, who broke bread with me, has lifted up his heel and turned against me.

But you, O Lord, be merciful to me and raise me up, and I shall repay them.

By this I know you are pleased with me, that my enemy does not triumph over me.

In my integrity you hold me fast, and shall set me before your face for ever.

Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, from age to age. Amen. Amen.

Glory be to the + Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
now and always and forever and ever. Amen.

The Readings

1 Corinthians 15:1-11

English Standard Version

Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.

For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me. For I am the least of the apostles, unworthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace towa
