א) הוראה ממ"ש הרמב"ם בהל' בית הבחירה בנוגע לבנין ביהמ"ק "שמצוה מן המובחר לחזק את הבנין ולהגביהו כפי כח הציבור וכו'": אם יש לא' כשרונות מיוחדים עליו לנצלם במילואן לעבודת ה' בביהמ"ק הרוחני שלו! ב) בנוגע למ"ש בהתחלת פ' ואתחנן שמשה רבינו אמר להקב"ה "אתה החילות להראות את עבדך את גדלך וגו'" – שרק בזמנו של משה התחיל הקב"ה להראות את גדולתו וכו' – מקשה הזהר הרי היו נסים גם בזמנם של האבות?! ומתרץ: שדוקא בזמן משה היו מצבם של בנ"י באופן של גדלות – ציבור שלם ואחד של מליוני אנשים (אנשים נשים וטף)! וזהו גדלותו האמיתית של הקב"ה. וההוראה: על כ"א לפעול שבנ"י יהיו באחדות ע"י אהבת ישראל ועי"ז נעשה ה"גדלך" האמיתי, וזה צריך להתחיל מילדים!

משיחת א' פ' ואתחנן, ז' מנחם-אב ה'תש"מ, להתלמידים ולהתלמידות שיחיו

(1) The Rambam writes in Hilchos Beis Habechirah: “The most preferable way to fulfill the mitzvah [of building the Beis Hamikdash] is by strengthening the building and raising it according to the community’s ability etc.” The lesson is that if someone has special talents, they must fully utilize it for serving Hashem in their spiritual Beis Hamikdash. (2) At the beginning of Parashas Va’eschanan, Moshe Rabbeinu says to Hashem, “You have begun to show Your servant Your greatness etc.” – indicating that it was only in Moshe’s time that Hashem began to show His greatness etc. The Zohar asks: Weren’t there also miracles in the times of the Patriarchs?! And he answers: it was only in Moshe’s time that the Jewish people attained greatness – because that’s when they became a complete and united community of millions of people (men, women, and children), and that is the true greatness of Hashem. The lesson is that everyone should see to it that the entire Jewish people are united through Ahavas Yisrael, and this is “Your greatness.” And it has to start with the children.
