The summer organ recital series at St Paul Cathedral in Oakland wraps up August 4 with Douglas Jayd-Burn playing the Beckerath organ in a free concert. The program includes Carillon by Louis Vierne, Bach and a show stopper by Leon Boellmann. Douglas describes his music making at the St Paul Episcopal church in Mount Lebanon and his recent addition of the Director of the Sunday evening Compline concerts at Heinz Chapel. Douglas grew up with a love of music and the arts as the son of two accomplished dancers. Brian Gurley, Director of Music at St Paul Cathedral, reveals the special qualities of the organ at St Paul and its unique status in the organ world as well as the plans for upcoming concerts at the Cathedral.
