[המשך] יש צורך להבהיר פרט חשוב: מכיון שישנם חילוקי דעות בעניני אמונה ודת – יש להבטיח שהחדרת האמונה בבורא העולם ומנהיגו תהי' ללא כל קשר עם דת כלשהי. והעצה לזה היא – להנהיג בבתי-ספר "רגע של שתיקה" שיהי' מיוחד למחשבה והתבוננות אודות בורא העולם ומנהיגו, ללא ענין של תפילה בדיבור וכו' שיכול לעורר חילוקי דעות מצד המנהל או התלמידים וכו'. ומה לחשוב באותו "רגע של שתיקה" אודות בורא העולם ומנהיגו – יאמרו זאת ההורים לילדיהם; יש להחדיר זאת גם בבתי-ספר הגבוהים, באוניברסיטאות וכיו"ב. וגודל ההכרח שבדבר מודגש ביותר בזמן האחרון – כפי שרואים בפועל את המצב השורר שם כיום...; לדאבוננו, ישנם גם בתי-ספר דתיים שבהם הדגש הוא להעניק לתלמידים ידיעות בעניני תומ"צ ללא תשומת-לב מיוחדת לענינים הקשורים עם אמונה אהבה ויראת ה', ויש להנהיג שיתחילו את היום בענין של תפלה והתבוננות בגדולת ה'; אשרי חלקם וגדול זכותם של כל אלו שיתעסקו בענין זה, ובפרט אלו שהם בעלי-השפעה בשטח מסויים וכו'.

[Continued.] There’s a caveat: being that there are differences of opinion regarding faith and religion, instilling the belief in the Creator and Ruler of the world must be done in a way that isn’t associated with any specific religion. This can be done by instituting a moment of silence in schools, dedicated to thought and reflection about the Creator and Ruler of the world, but without a verbal prayer or anything that could cause disagreements among the administration or students – and the parents will tell the children what to think about during the moment of silence. It should be instituted in the universities etc. as well, especially considering the current situation in the universities. Unfortunately, even in some religious schools, the focus is on providing students with knowledge of Torah and mitzvos, but without attention to faith, love, and fear of Hashem. It’s important that the day begin with davening and contemplation of Hashem’s greatness. Fortunate is the lot and great is the merit of those working toward this end, and those who have any influence in this regard should utilize it to the fullest etc.
