Season 5 Episode 31
What is worthy of our calling?
Paul’s answer isn’t what most of us think about when we think about the word worth:
“(Live) with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, making every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace” -Ephesians 4:2-3
Nothing about wealth, social status or power. Nothing about looking holy or righteous in the eyes of others.
We are humble. We live according to the light we have been given- understanding that our best understanding is partial and incomplete.
We are gentle when we come to understand that strength and gentleness are not mutually exclusive traits.
We are patient. We carry each other in love.
We live together in peace when we understand that unity of spirit doesn’t require uniformity of understanding or practice.
Being worthy of our calling is to be humble, gentle, patient, loving and to embrace our commonalities as much as we can while we serve others.
