The Paris Olympic opening ceremony included a depiction of Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper” that included drag queens, a transgender model, and a naked singer. A Paris 2024 spokeswoman said yesterday, “Clearly there was never an intention to show disrespect to any religious group.” However, it may have been better if an offense against the Christian faith had been intentional.
