[המשך] בדורות שלפנינו קיבל הנער החינוך לערכים בביתו ושלחו אותו לבית-ספר רק להוסיף לו ידיעות בעניני מדע וכיו"ב, אבל כיום (שלהורים "אין זמן" לחינוכו של הנער) חינוך הנער הוא תחת אחריותם של בתי-הספר! ודוקא שם מעמידים "מסך של ברזל" ולא נותנים להקב"ה "להיכנס"... בנוגע לטענה אודות "חוקת-היסוד" כו' – הנה החוקה נקבעה ע"י אלו שמטרת בואם למדינה זו היתה כדי שיוכלו לנהל את חייהם עפ"י דתם באין מפריע, ואין מקום לומר שכווונתם היתה שבבתי-ספר לא יתנו להזכיר אודות מציאות של בורא העולם!; בחוקה נאמר שהיא נקבעה "לטובתה של האומה", ואם מצב האומה השתנה – הילד כבר לא מקבל בביתו את התודעה ש"עין רואה ואוזן שומעת", ורואים שאחוז הפשיעה אצל הנוער הולך וגדל וכו' – הרי "טובתה של האומה" מחייבת לעשות משהו בנידון, ובפרט שבחוקה עצמה מפורש שניתן לעשות בו שינויים בהתאם לשינויי המצבים וכו'. יש לציין את ענין החיובי שנשיא המדינה הכריז שיש להכניס לבתי-ספר את ההכרה בבורא עולם ומנהיגו. In previous generations, children learned values from their parents at home, and schools was meant to teach them about science etc. But today (when parents “don’t have time” to teach their children), the children’s education is the responsibility of the schools. Yet specifically in the schools, an “iron curtain” is erected, so as not to allow G-d in…. They argue that the Constitution requires etc., but the Constitution was established by people who came to this country to practice their religion without persecution. Thus, there is no basis for the notion that they intended to forbid in schools the mention of the Creator of the universe! Moreover, the Constitution was written “for the people,” and it expressly allows for amendment when circumstances change. Therefore, when the situation has changed, such that children are no longer taught at home that there’s a “seeing eye and listening ear,” and we see that the crime rate among the youth is rising etc., the good of the people requires doing something about it. A recent positive development is that the President of the United States has issued a call to allow the recognition of G-d to be taught in public schools. [To be continued.]
