I sit with Rachel Wagman and we talk about how she moved to Berlin without visiting, how she got into Opera singing, and the new genre of peforming she is currently exploring.
We also talk about life in New York (not NYC) and New York City. She shares some of her experience with the Berlin public and more.
Rachel Wagman is a 26-year-old from New York. She holds degrees in Voice Performance and Theatre Arts from the State University of New York at Fredonia. She is a multi-genre vocalist/musician who has been singing since she was two years old. Some of her favorite genres to sing are Opera, Jazz, R&B, Soul, Classical, and folk. Wagman has performed on many stages in the United States, including Carnegie Hall. In Europe, she has performed in Italy, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, and Switzerland.
Wagman moved to Berlin a year ago to study and perform at the Berlin Opera Academy. Throughout the past year, she has been involved with other music projects and has created music in many genres. Wagman also teaches music and works with children. She will be moving back to New York in August to work, make music and perform in New York City.
