Meteorologist Lee Goldberg says a pair of scorchers are on tap, starting with Tuesday, when we'll reach peak heat.
In some parts of the Tri-State, this could end up being the hottest day of the summer, so far, with heat indices that could exceed 100 degrees.
Storms on Tuesday and Wednesday could also bring damaging winds.
But there is some encouraging news in the forecast: extended relief moves in by Thursday and sticks around.
