Description

In this week’s episode, Amrit interviews Dr. Patrick Gentempo, referred to as the “Philosopher-Entrepreneur”, chiropractor, a star in the world of health, wellness and business, international speaker and best-selling author of the book “Your Stand is Your Brand”. He is the founder and CEO of Action Potential Holdings, Inc. as well as the CEO of Revealed Films.

"Everyone has a philosophy, the only question is whether they know it or not.”

We all have philosophies we live by. We may have adopted those philosophies intentionally but, in many cases, they may simply be premises passed down to us by some family member, teacher, or preacher.  Whatever the case, the philosophies we live by drive our behaviors and, ultimately, dictate our outcomes, so it is important to identify what they are.

Dr. Patrick Gentempo and Amrit dive deep into Patrick’s application of philosophy as a practical tool for human achievement and his successful book “Your Stand is Your Brand” on how deciding “who to be” will revolutionize not only your business but your life too.

Patrick refers to three branches of five in philosophy - metaphysics, epistemology and ethics - when doing philosophical exploration. Metaphysics is your view of reality, epistemology is the theory of knowledge and ethics is the one that provides you with a code of values that will be a guide to your actions and drive you towards your purpose. Through philosophical explorations you can identify existing contradictions in your own life. If you identify your contradictions, you can solve them, and then surpass actual challenges and pass onto the next level becoming a better version of yourself.

He refers to Ayn Rand when talking about contradictions. She stated that “contradictions” lead to destruction. When you have contradictions in your basic philosophical premises the only possible result is destruction and the amount of destruction is relevant to the level of that contradiction.

They talk about the importance of taking a stand and never taking opportunities over values no matter how good an opportunity may look. When an opportunity is in conflict with your values, it is not good for you.

Taking a stand is the most crucial thing you can do to become more successful than ever. Your stand must be based on our own philosophical premises, key values, and purpose, and they must be aligned. And if they are in sync, you will have the power to grow in your personal life and your business too.

“When you take a stand, it means you understand what your values are. That takes a clarifying exercise to know which they are making sure you don't have any contradiction”

In regards to starting a business, the whole idea of a business is giving it a soul; giving it a philosophy. That means knowing and clarifying its values, its purpose, its vision, all together becoming the heartbeat and the soul of the business. When you and everyone else operate in alignment with those values magic happens, but when you have contradictions your business begins to perish.

In addition, there is an amazing conversation about finding your “Miles Davis” and the importance of creative destruction.

Finding your “Miles Davis”, means going back, figuring out the pure state of you, understanding who this person is by identity and expressing it out to the world to the fullest, with all your passion and heart - “Miles Davis was known for being able to express the purest expression of your soul”

Patrick discovered what it meant to find your “Miles
